Welcome to Chiltern Young Walkers.

Chiltern Young Walkers is a friendly and sociable walking group aimed at people in their 20s-30s which offers a diverse variety of walks and social events across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, South Bedfordshire and West Middlesex.

If you’re thinking about getting out into the countryside, expanding your social scene or just explore what fantastic scenery lies on your doorstep, then the Chiltern 20-30s Walking Group is for you!

If you’d like to try us out, please join one of our walks, or better still join us at one of our social events.

New Members

We like to make it easy, if you’re new to walking, our Introductory Walks are ideal. An Introductory Walk is short and leisurely often featuring beautiful landscapes with a traditional pub en route to give you the opportunity to ask questions.

There’s nothing complicated about the way our group is run. If you want to attend any of our walks and most of our social events all you need to do is turn up. Certain events require booking and this will be highlighted on the events information.

So come along and give us a try!

Walks

We walk every weekend with a mixture of leisurely and moderate graded walks in and around the Chilterns, so come and join us on one of our walks.

When do we walk?

We walk every weekend with a mixture of half day leisurely walks between five and seven miles, more moderate walks of around ten miles and occasionally something longer. During the summer we enjoy the light evenings with weekday evening walks too.

Where do we walk?

Along the footpaths and bridleways of the Chiltern Hills located in Buckinghamshire, West Hertfordshire, South Bedfordshire and West Middlesex. Our walks include the open countryside, farmland, ancient woodland, hilltop views and picturesque villages that the area is known for. We usually return to a local pub or cafe at the end of the walk for a sociable drink.

Events

#MoreThanWalking – Chiltern Young Walkers host regular social events including evenings out, pub nights, bowling, cinema trips, concerns, comedy nights and more! We also host fun weekends away to various parts of the UK, previously we have been to Snowdonia, Isle of Mann, Fort William, Lake District, South Downs and the Isle of Wight.
