Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

Area name: Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

Ramblers’ areas help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Areas help look after paths and green spaces, open up new places to explore and act as the leading voice on walking matters near you. They also support our local groups to organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.

Ramblers’ groups in this area have some great walks and activities to choose from and you can select a group by clicking the links below.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area committee is in the process of being reorganised and refreshed, and whilst this is happening Ramblers’ staff team are helping with the essential work of supporting groups.

For all Ramblers’ members in the area:

On 24 January we held a special members’ meeting at Hinchingbrooke Countryside Centre.

Our Chief Executive Benedict Southworth thanked the groups in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in recognition of their volunteering work and successes.

Our Chair Des Garrahan and Chief Executive Benedict Southworth gave a joint presentation about how the organisation is run.  Questions and answers took place throughout the meeting.

Elections for delegates to Ramblers’ national annual meeting, General Council, took place. Janet Cartwright of Peterborough Group and Brian Foster of Fenland Group were voted in as Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Ramblers members’ delegates.

The meeting ended with a thank you to attendees and wishing all a safe journey home.

General Council takes place on 2 and 3 of April 2016 at the University of York and you can find out more about it here:
