Group name: Moorland
This group is a part of Devon Area.
Our activities include:
Come and walk with us!
Every Sunday we offer a strenuous walk of ten to fifteen miles, mostly over the rough and rugged terrain of Dartmoor. The walks generally start at 10 am from different places around the moor. Dogs are welcome but may have to be on a lead at some locations or during the bird nesting season. Here is a light-hearted look at our activities
You can find details of our walks programme on this page or at www.moorlandramblers.org.uk/walksprog.htm A printable programme can be downloaded here.
If there is anything you are not clear about, you are welcome to call the Walk Leader, whose phone number is generally provided or a member of the committee at www.moorlandramblers.org.uk/allabout.htm
We are part of Ramblers. Britains walking charity, working to safeguard the footpaths, the countryside and other places we go walking and we encourage more people to take up walking. We are at the heart of walking in Britain.
There is no commitment when you first walk with us, but we will will ask you to join Ramblers http://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member.aspx after three times out with us. That is, if you would like to walk more with us or any other Ramblers group, or support the campaigning work of the Ramblers.
We look forward to welcoming you to an enjoyable walk on Dartmoor. The most remote place by far in Southern England.
