Welcome to the Uttlesford group. Uttlesford is an area in Essex named after the ancient Hundred of the same name to the north west of the county centred around Saffron Walden.
The group is centred around the market towns of Saffron Walden, Thaxted and Great Dunmow with the National Trust’s Hatfield Forest in the south.
If you have not been to this part of Essex before it is a wonderful place to walk, with tiny villages with thatched cottages and ancient churches, and it is definitely not flat!
Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk walks are also often on our programme and with great links into London, we sometimes venture into the capital for a city walk.
We have a varied walks programme throughout the year, with walks of different lengths to suit everyone.
Whether you live in the area or are just visiting, you are very welcome to join any of our walks which may include a picnic or pub lunch.
