Path Maintenance

Path Maintenance Pentlands 001.jpg
Lothian and Borders Ramblers have recently established an Area wide path maintenance team to help improve paths across the Area.  The team have been working alongside  Edinburgh City Council’s Countryside Ranger to learn new skills and have been working on paths in the Pentlands.

Ian Forrest, the team volunteer co-ordinator said  “It’s very rewarding work. We’ve built sleeper bridges, installed gates and improved drainage to ensure paths are useable in all weather.  We’re learning new skills so eventually we’ll have an Area Path Team that can undertake minor path repairs across Lothian and Borders”.

No previous experience is required to get involved and all tools and equipment will be provided.  If you’d like to find out more send an email to Ian Forrest .
