Didcot & Wallingford

Group name: Didcot & Wallingford

This group is a part of Oxfordshire Area.

Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.

The Didcot & Wallingford group contributes over 50 walks a year to the area programme, as well as arranging an annual weekend away in various locations in England and Wales. New walkers and potential members are always welcome. The group has strong links with the health walks programme in Benson. The area stretches from the Berkshire Downs in the south west to the foothills of the Chilterns in the north east. It includes several beautiful, winding miles of the Thames Path; the historic village of Dorchester on Thames, with its famed abbey; the exhilarating and rewarding climb up to Wittenham Clumps, contrasting with the chalk hills and beech woods around Ewelme and Swyncombe with their thriving population of red kites. Truly an area of great variety and natural beauty. Unless stated otherwise, dogs are allowed, but preferably on leads.
