Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.

The Richmond Group is conveniently placed, geographically, to offer a varied programme of walks at weekends and midweek. Our programmes typically contain interest walks in Central London, green walks in Greater London, and country walks in the surrounding counties.  We also make use of the wealth of green open spaces and parkland in the borough, together with a long section of the Thames towpath.

Our walks range from 4-12 miles in length and are conveniently organised around public transport.

In summer 2014 we organised a Family Walk and Nature Trail, with a variety of activities for children ages 5 - 11. It was very successful and was followed up by a spring-themed Nature Walk for families in April this year. We hope to feature similar walks in future, as well as including occasional family-friendly walks in our programmes.Family Walk - April 2015: Measuring the girth of a large Plane Tree
