Short and easy walks

The Castle Bromwich District Group of the Ramblers was formed in autumn 1991 and provides walks nearly every Sunday throughout the year. During the long summer evenings of June, July, and August we also arrange additional evening walks.

THE WALKS Our Walks Programme shows the name and contact number for each walk leader. Should you wish to find out more details about a particular walk such as specific location or terrain, please do not hesitate to call the walk leader as they will be only too happy to answer any questions. Details are also available to view on our website www.castlebromwichramblers.btck.co.uk. Do not worry about getting to the walk location. We meet on Sundays at 9am in the service road on the corner of Chester Road & Hurst Lane, Castle Bromwich, and we share cars travelling to the walks if you are a passenger. All we would ask is that you make a contribution towards the driver's fuel costs. Of course you may wish to make your own way to the start of the walk, and in this instance it is advisable to let the walk leader know beforehand as the walk location may change at short notice.

Sunday Walks are held throughout the year, and these are usually located within a 50 mile radius of Castle Bromwich. Sunday walk distances are approximately 5 - 8 miles. Midweek Evening Walks are held May to August, these are more local and tend to be within 15 miles of Castle Bromwich. Walk distances are approximately 4 miles.Tuesday Morning Strolls are held once a month, with walk distances of approximately 2 miles. These walks start from outside the respective libraries and usually end up with tea, biscuits, and a chat. Please note that there is no meet up in Castle Bromwich for these walks.

WHAT TO BRING Please bring a packed lunch and a drink, waterproof jacket, and sturdy walking shoes/boots. Don't forget a change of footwear for the journey home and a carrier bag for those muddy boots!

SOCIAL EVENTS Castle Bromwich Ramblers also organise short breaks twice a year, and social occasions too including summer buffets and Christmas lunches. We are currently looking forward to our spring walking weekend in Llangollen.

Walking is an excellent natural exercise that can help you stay healthy and live longer, keep happy, enjoy time with friends and family, learn more about your local area, and even look after the environment. The Ramblers is a charity whose goal is to protect the ability of people to enjoy the sense of freedom and benefits that come from being outdoors on foot. We look forward to welcoming you on your next walk with us
