We are the Bury Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Circular walk from White House free car park down to Summit and along the Rochdale Canal to Hollingworth Lake. Then climbing to Tunstall Lane and walking to the Transmitter at Windy Hill. Next, crossing the motorway via the Pennine Way Footbridge and ascending to Blackstone Edge, then finally walking downhill back to the start. There is a pub next to the car park for anyone interested in refreshments after the walk.
Note: This is a Moderate/Strenuous walk.
There is a free car park but it gets full so arrive early. If it is full, one option is to drive east along the A58 where there is a lay-by further to the east along the road which could be used and then walk back. However, would need to inform the walk leader if doing this as there will be a delay in walking back to the walk start point.
Walk unsuitable for dogs.
