CHORLEYWOOD, CHESS, CHENIES & CHARTISTS

A circular walk of appx. 11 miles starting opposite the main entrance to Chorleywood station (adjoining the southbound platform). For anyone coming by car, there is car parking available at Chorleywood Common and Chorleywood House (off the A404). If using these car parks, please wait outside the nearby Chorleywood Parish Council Office (the white building at the entrance to the Chorleywood House drive) to join the walk which should pass by at appx. 10.50. 

The planned route includes part of the path alongside the chalk stream River Chess, a refreshment break on the green at Chenies, a picnic lunch in Philipshill Wood, a walk through the narrow roads of the Chartist settlement at Heronsgate before returning to Chorleywood Common and Chorleywood station.

There are some hills and there maybe some mud in places. Most of the route is along country paths but there are places where roads have to be crossed or walked along.
