A ramble in rolling hills – upper end of moderate. Taking the Shropshire Way from Clun, it’s initially flat, thereafter steadily climbing to almost the highest point of the walk, where we’ll stop for coffee. I think it will take over 2 hours to get these first 3 miles done, due to the climb and quite a few stiles, hence the decision to start earlier than usual. Sorry to those who don’t like early starts! Fine views, weather permitting, as we follow the trail until it meets Offa’s Dyke. The 2 mile stretch on OD is pretty and undulating, although care is needed for 2 steep descents after the lunch stop. Once we leave the dyke it’s easy walking back to Clun.
