Overview

 Walk the valleys, woodland and fields to the East of the village. Some steep paths down to Putham and a longish uphill through the woods. Back across open farmland following the Coleridge Way. Likely to be wet, muddy/slippery in places esp after rain. Walking poles recommended. Total ascent 1150ft

Please note B3224 is closed to all traffic until at least May 2024 between Exford and Wheddon Cross.

An alternative route may be North Molton-Withypool-Winsford and out onto A396 and then north towards Wheddon Cross.

Or you could go to Dulverton, out onto the A396 and north to Wheddon Cross

We advise you select an appropriate alternative route in advance as it may take more travel time to reach Wheddon Cross in time for your chosen walk.

Wheddon Cross car park, behind Rest & Be Thankful pub, Dunkery Road B3223. If car park is full, park at Cattle Market car park a couple of hundred yards back down the road and walk back. All walks will start from the pub car park. WALKS WILL LEAVE THE CAR PARK PROMPTLY AT THE TIMES GIVEN. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE.
