We are the Beverley Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
One of the longer walk walks we offer to the group. Leaving Saltergate CP we drop down into North Dale with possible views of the steam trains. With a steep climb to Needle Eye we continue our walk in the woods above Newton Dale with views into the dale, weather permitting. Continuing on forest tracks we will aim to have a couple of short breaks before our lunch stop at Levisham Station where there's an opportunity for ice cream or coffee provided the tea hut is open. With a steep climb up to Levisham village we walk along the lane to the open moor to return to our cars.
We have graded this walk Moderate Plus, although there are a couple of climbs there will be plenty of opportunity to rest and enjoy the views.
Parking charges apply, currently £5.50 (full day). Payment by card only as no cash accepted by the card machine, also by ApplePay and AndroidPay but this is dependant on mobile network coverage.

Please bring adequate food and drink for the walk as there is no guarantee that the tea hut at Levisham will be open.
You may find walking poles useful as in general the paths are muddy after the recent wet weather and the steep decent to the railway line is very muddy and slippery for a short section so care is needed on this section.
