Overview

This circular route takes in a little known corner of Snowdonia which is often overlooked in favour of the nearby Cadair Idris.

The route takes in Waun-Oer, Cribin Fawr and Maesglase (among other tops) and gives views over the whole of Snowdonia, while the ridge that links the peaks is as exhilarating as anything in the Carnedds, with dizzying drops down sheer precipices viewed from the safety of afar, or at one point, from the edge (there are no Grib Goch knife edge ridges, there is always a wide plateau to at least one side.)

The image on this website shows probably the worst section: https://snowdonia.gov.wales/walk/waen-oer-ridge/

This route is constantly surprising, with unexpected vistas opening up on either side, behind you or down below.
