This is a pleasant walk over the rolling hills of North Oxfordshire with some lovely views to enjoy. There's a little more road walking than we'd normally choose but after the recent wet weather, hopefully this will make a welcome change from all the mud. From Wigginton we initially head south-west, crossing Swerford Heath and passing through the village of Swerford. We then follow the road northwards before joining the D'Arcy Dalton Way which we follow into Hook Norton, a village famous for its brewery of the same name. Unsurprisingly we will have our lunch stop at one of their pubs, The Pear Tree Inn. After lunch it's a gentle walk eastwards along relatively level ground back to our cars.
We are a friendly group and new faces are always welcome: we hope you'll join us.
For car sharing, please meet at Lower Bond Street car park, Hinckley for an 08:30 departure
Please bring your own food and drinks but do not eat them at the pub unless we are able to obtain permission to do so from the landlord. There are plenty of picnic spots nearby.
