Beautiful views guaranteed!
We begin at the quaint and historic town of Wallingford, famed for its ancient bridge. More to come on that later.
We make the long but beautiful trek along the rural River Thames before arriving at Streatley.
Then we climb a little hill and explore the beautiful countryside of the National Trust’s Lardon Chase, the Holies and Lough Down. From the top, there’s amazing views of all the countryside and villages around there. It’s idyllic. We’ll stop there for lunch.
Then we head back along the other side of the Thames, giving us a whole new glorious perspective of this magnificent river. We traverse a couple of cute ‘chocolate box’ villages along the way, with beautiful ancient churches and whatnot.
And finally there’s the ancient bridge, which we will cross. Its ancient beauty has to be seen to be believed, as it embodies the vibe of the “quaint English village (or small town)”. It dates back nearly 1,000 years so that when you’re walking over it you can imagine your ancestors having done so long ago.
Everyone is welcome on this walk, as long as you can stay the distance - please join us!
