A circular walk through various woodlands with lots of bluebells, anemones, garlic flowers and full of the sound of birdsong. Leaving the Maenllwyd Inn car park we follow the Cambrian Way, eastward, to then descend through Coed Cefn-pwll-du towards Draethen. We then climb westerly through Coed y Bwdrwm & Coed y Squire to the Rhymney Ridgeway before entering Coedcae & Coed Llwyn-celyn to ascend to the trig point above Craig Llysfaen with extensive views (on a clear day) over Cardiff and the Bristol Channel. We then return, heading east, via the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway Walk/ Cambrian Way through Coed Cefn-onn to the Maenllwyd Inn for an optional lunch.
