Sometimes overlooked, the East of England has plenty to offer walkers. From charming coastal routes to historic cities, a fantastic selection of walks in the region featured on ITV’s Britain’s Favourite Walks: Top 100.

Here are some of our favourites. Complete with walk descriptions, step-by-step instructions and maps, there’s everything you need to head out and walk the routes yourself.

Wells-next-the-Sea

A stunning walk that passes through the beautiful seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, along a magnificent stretch of beach along the Norfolk Coast Path and the deer park and woods of the Holkham Estate.
  

Constable Country, Essex

This is a picturesque, circular walk through the beautiful countryside of Essex, otherwise known as Constable Country. Crossing water meadows, babbling brooks and meandering along the river, this is the definition of a traditional lowland walk.

Colleges and the Backs in Cambridge

Take a tour of some of Cambridge’s most beautiful buildings in the picturesque area of the Backs, where several of Cambridge University’s colleges back onto the River Cam and local community pubs offer en-route refreshments.
