"Enjoying a good walk with your family or friends
is a lovely way to spend a day."
The Grantham Ramblers group helps local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. We organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.
We walk every other Sunday and Thursday with additional evening walks in the summer. While on Sundays the walks typically are between 8 and 10 miles, the walks during the week are a more leisurely 4 to 6 miles with plenty of breaks.
Some of the leaders are happy to share their local knowledge and take us to places of great interest. While it is often said that rambling is for older people, we very much welcome families to join us. Kids often enjoy some of the wildlife and the picnics. Please see the story of Jacob who introduced his daughter to the enjoyment of walking. She subsequently completed the three Duke of Edinburgh awards.
We do venture further afield for our coach trips and annual walking weekend. From 9 to 11 June we were at the Corsham walking weekend, on the edge of the Cotswolds
Many enjoy our social events. This year we are celebratied our 50th Anniversary Dinner on Sunday 21 May and the annual skittles evening is always a success too.
You’re very welcome to join us for a few walks, before you decide to become a Ramblers' member. All walks are leisurely or moderate and are usually within 20 miles of Grantham. We have a morning coffee stop on all walks and on Sunday walks we also have a picnic lunch stop. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times please. Come along and meet us - we look forward to welcoming you.
