Group name: Hillingdon
This group is a part of Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and West Middlesex Area.
Our activities include:
Short and easy walks
Hillingdon lies on the west side of Greater London and, as well as being on the Underground and Overground network, has easy access to the M40 and M25. This allows us to easily explore the rural Home Counties and of course, particularly in winter, to walk both locally and in the Greater London area.
Why walk with us?
Because you'll be joining a friendly group made up of people from many walks of life who share a love of the countryside.
Where do we walk?
Sometimes in Hillingdon, but usually further afield. A few of the coming walks are clickable on the blue sidebar on the right of this page.
Typically Saturday walks are in rural Buckinghamshire eg Amersham, Gerrards Cross, Chalfont St Giles.
Longer walks are often in the Chilterns with Great Missenden, Wendover, Marlow all being popular.
When and how far?
Our easiest-paced walks are on Saturday mornings and last about 2 hours.
Saturday afternoons walks are slightly more demanding at 5 to 6 miles.
On Sundays and Wednesdays, starting mid-morning, we walk 10 to 14 miles at a moderate pace for the full day.
We also travel further afield taking a few days to explore other parts of the UK.
Recent visits have taken us to the Lake District, Derbyshire and Sussex.
And of course, we always have glorious weather.
