Tourist Information Centres (sometimes now called Visitor Information Centres) can advise on local attractions, transport and accommodation, and often stock a range of useful publications including walking books, leaflets and maps. At present only a limited number of TICs are shown on this page. A fully searchable list of TICs in Britain is at www.visitbritain.com; you will also find your local TIC in the phone book under Tourist Information, and they can refer you to a TIC in another part of Britain if necessary.
