Our popular Festival of Winter Walks runs annually over the Christmas and New Year period. It's a great opportunity to discover the pleasures and benefits of walking and the welcome of a Ramblers led walk, while making the best of the winter light and kickstarting those New Year's resolutions!
Hundreds of walks take place around the country during the festival. All are free, fun and open to anyone and everyone from toddlers to grandparents. Chosen and led by Ramblers volunteers, the walks will showcase Britain at its wintry best. Many of the walks are short and family-friendly, although there are always plenty of yomps for the seasoned hiker too.
The festival typically includes:
• Walks across England, Scotland and Wales
• Hundreds of walks under five miles
• Festive-themed walks
• Walks for people in their 20s and 30s
With so many wonderful routes all around the country, it really is the ideal time to explore the beautiful winter landscape. We urge everyone in Britain, whatever their age or walking ability, to get out and join in the Festival of Winter Walks.
