Britain's largest urban park lies just 9.5km/6 miles north of Birmingham city centre, with open heath, wetlands, marshes, woodlands and seven lakes providing a home for a rich and rare wildlife. There's also much of archaeological interest including the remains of a Roman road.

The Park is a remnant of ancient hunting forest that was first enclosed in 1528. Recreational use began in the 19th century and it was designated an NNR in 1997. It also includes several restaurants, a donkey sanctuary and numerous paths and trails.
