Sandwell Valley
Woodland,
farmland and green space in West Bromwich
800ha/2,000 acres
Country park
West Midlands
A green lung straddling the M5 motorway in the middle of the Birmingham and the Black Country conurbation, originally a manorial estate. As well as woodland, open space, the remains of an old abbey and lakes, including the popular Swan Pool, there are two working farms, one of them run on the model of a Victorian farm. Many good local walks and nature trails: a trail guide is available from the farms in the park.
