Way
Helmsley to Filey Brigg 177km/110 milesHorseshoe-shaped
route around the northern edge of the North York Moors to Saltburn, then a
section along coastal tracks south via Whitby and Scarborough, forming part of
European path E2. The whole route is accessible by public transport. The
Link through the Tabular Hills connects with the Way at Helmsley and the coast near
Scalby, completing the circuit with a more direct waymarked route of 77km/48
miles. The coastal section of the Cleveland Way is part of the North Sea
Trail, a European project to create better access to the North Sea coast in
all the surrounding countries.
