Signed
Northwest England - West Midlands
A route primarily designed for horse riders and mountain bikers through the border country of Cheshire and Staffordshire, passing by Beeston Castle, Tattenhall and Aldford before turning south and east past Farndon, towards Malpas and Whitchurch. Bishop William Bennet (1745-1820) pioneered the research of Roman roads in this area.
27km of the route follows surfaced minor roads shared with motor traffic, but walkers can avoid these by using alternative rights of way shown on Ordnance Survey maps. The rest uses bridleways and byways.
