Circular from Ledbury via Ross-on-Wye, Kington, Leominster and Bromyard
246.5km/154 miles
To be signed
West Midlands
A large circuit around the county visiting all the market towns, pretty villages and attractive coutnryside in between. Commons, woodlands, hills, farmlands, waterside and characteristic black and white architecture can all be enjoyed.
The route was devised by members of Herefordshire Ramblers and launched in 2005. The path logo was designed by a local school student in response to a newspaper competition: it shows a map of the county as part of an apple tree, with the market towns and the city of Hereford picked out with apples, echoing the apple emblem of the county and the local orchard industry.
The Marcle Ridge Loop Walk, a 7km/4.5-mile circular route from Marcle Ridge picnic site via Ridge Hill and Hyde Farm, uses part of the way. A steep initial climb leads to a bracing ridge walk with great views. Several of the other Herefordshire Circular Walks link the Way with the Wye Valley Walk and Mortimer Trail.
Bracing ridge walk with great views. Includes a steep initial climb.
