A themed trail along picturesque river valleys and over high heather moorlands in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The trail is named after Isaac Holden; a former lead miner turned itinerant tea seller and philanthropist in the 1800s. The trail follows in his footsteps and includes the places where he made his mark can still be seen.

The trail was launched in 2002 and since 2007 has been included on OS maps.

Public Transport: The area is well served with bus links. Allendale has a good bus connection to the railway station at Hexham. Contact local Tourist Information Centres for further information. For further information visit www.travel.org.uk
