The Kintyre Way criss-crosses the beautiful but unexplored Kintyre peninsular stretching from north to south. There is a mixture of serious hiking and gentle rambles, and the whole route can be walked in 4-7 days. It runs from Tarbert to Claonaig, then continues to Tayinloan, Carradale, Campbeltown and Machrinahish before skirting past the Mull of Kintyre to Southend.

The Kintyre Way aims to showcase the natural beauty of the landscape, with its wild Atlantic coasts, hidden coves and rolling hills, and also link in with the fishing and farming communities and their local produce.

The Way was launched in 2006, and has been developed through the efforts of Argyll and the Isles Enterprise , Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage, local windfarm trusts, The Kintyre Marketing Group, VisitScotland, local businesses and Argyll & Bute Council.
