Circular from Pateley Bridge via Ripley and Lofthouse

A walk around the valley of the River Nidd in North Yorkshire, featuring gritstone outcrops and rough, open moorland. The unsigned Nidd Valley Link (45.5km/28.5 miles) connects Hampsthwaite, on the Nidderdale Way, with the confluence of the Nidd and Ouse at Nun Monkton, from where walkers can follow the Ouse into York.

Public transport
The nearest rail station is at Harrogate, with regular services to York and Leeds for connections to London, Carlisle, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and many other centres. From here a number of buses serve Ripley, Pateley Bridge and several other points on the route, including Sunday services serving the southeastern part of the route and Saturday services extending to Gouthwaite and How Stean Gorge in the northwest.
