North Worcestershire Path

North Worcestershire

Kinver to Major's Green, Shirley
43km/27 miles
Signed

A mainly rural route along the southern edge of the Birmingham conurbation, from the sandstone ridge of Kinver Edge through both rolling and pastoral landscapes. The Path runs via four country parks, the historic village of Hagley and some of the most attractive countryside in the area, with many great views, and most sections are easily reached from Birmingham.

The Path was established in 1983 by the former Hereford and Worcester county council to link the four country parks, and originally ran from Kinver to Lickey Hill. It has twice been extended eastwards and is now supported by Worcestershire council.

The Midland Link (32km/20 miles) is an extension of the Path that runs from Forhill picnic site (a former terminus of the North Worcestershire Path) and on through some of the most attractive parts of Warwickshire to Kenilworth, linking with the Heart of England Way and Centenary Way (Warwickshire). Along the way are lakesides, canals, woodlands and historic villages.
