Two Moors Way

Recreational Route: Southwest England

Two Moors Way

Ivybridge to Lynmouth
166km/103 miles

A popular and very attractive route linking Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks through diverse scenery including wild and remote parts of Dartmoor, some of the loveliest parts of the Dart Valley, the National Trust's Castle Drogo, quiet rural backwaters of central Devon, the high open moors of Exmoor and the spectacular coast at Lynmouth.

The route is mainly easy going with some more challenging stretches, and unsigned on open moorland where navigation skills are needed, though well-signed elsewhere. It was originally developed by the Devon Ramblers with the support of the county council and opened in 1976.

The southern end of the Way links with the Erme-Plym Trail an easy route through pastoral countryside from Ivybridge to Plymouth (21km/13 miles), with a spur from Hollacombe Hill to the coast at Wembury (3km/2 miles). Both this and the Two Moors Way are now also marketed together as the Coast to Coast walk (Devon) from Wembury to Lynmouth (186km/116 miles). The short section of the Erme-Plym Trail between Ivybridge and Sequers Bridge is also known as the Erme Valley Trail .
