Fort William - Cape Wrath
326km/202 miles CHALLENGING
A walk to the remote northwest corner of Britain, described by its creators
as possibly "the toughest long distance walk in the British Isles" and
designed to take in as much interesting and beautiful scenery as possible while
avoiding high peaks. It includes Britain's remotest place, Knoydart, and its
highest waterfall, Eas a Chłal Aluinn, and the Munro-baggers' mecca, Beinne
Eighe National Nature Reserve.
The 330km/205-mile Cape Wrath Trail from Banavie to Cape
Wrath, devised by David Paterson, runs roughly parallel through Kintail,
Torridon, Dundonnell and Assynt, including Beinne Eighe and Lurg Mór.
