Course and Resources Development Officer

The successful candidate will need to be able to develop resources, content and systems to support training that are tailored and applicable in the different contexts of England, Wales and Scotland, yet also present a unified vision of walk leadership across Ramblers GB. The walk leadership project will be at different stages of delivery in different parts of GB, with Scotland going into year 3 of project delivery, and England and Wales shortly to commence year 1. 

 You will need to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in developing suites of resources to support learning and skills development within an overarching framework or structure
  • Familiarity with working with volunteers, their potential, opportunities and constraints
  • Demonstrable experience in developing content that reflects awareness of different learning styles and approaches
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms
  • Experience in working with content from other organisations or suppliers and repackaging to ensure it meets the needs of the intended audience
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, preferably with experience of collaborating with colleagues based in a variety of different locations.
  • Experience of working within a membership and/or volunteer-focused organisation
  • Experience of liaising with suppliers and ensuring best value for money when commissioning products or services
  • Experience in identifying training gaps within an organisation and in developing relationships with external suppliers to fill these gaps
  • Familiarity with data management and tracking systems in order to log training requirements, needs and progress
