Volunteering and Quality Assurance Officer

The successful candidate will need to be able to build structures and training to build a network of volunteers who are in turn able to train, support and mentor our volunteer walk leaders (train-the-trainer model). The post-holder will develop a quality assurance standard for our walk leader training and work with colleagues within the Walk Leadership project team to develop tracking and data monitoring systems around this.  In addition, this role will be responsible for leading on the creation of volunteer recognition events, to celebrate walk leaders and other volunteer roles associated with walk leadership.

 You will need to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering train-the-trainer programmes of work
  • Familiarity with working with volunteers, their potential, opportunities and constraints
  • Demonstrable experience in developing training activities and resources that reflects awareness of different learning styles and approaches
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, preferably with experience of collaborating with colleagues based in a variety of different locations.
  • Experience of working within a membership and/or volunteer-focused organisation
  • Event management experience, with a focus on delivering events that meet a defined outcome
  • Familiarity with data management and tracking systems in order to ensure participation within the walk leadership training framework is logged appropriate
  • Budget management experience
  • Knowledgeable about quality assurance schemes in relation to training/skills development
  • Able to build an external network of other organisations delivering comparable training and drawing on their experiences
