Ramblers' Association Easter walks weekend 21st-24th March 2008
17 March 2008
This Easter, the Ramblers Association (RA)
is offering walkers the chance to take part in 250 free, led
walks around the country which celebrate shoots, sun, spring air
and – in some cases – eggs of the non-hatching chocolate
variety.
The walks – 50 of which are a family friendly distance of under
6 miles - vary in length and tone ensuring there is a stroll to
suit all tastes. All, however, have been chosen by experts and
have a strong Spring theme; they include walks in Yorkshire’s
hidden Dimpledale (entrance through the bottom of a garden!), a
Cambridgeshire Easter-egg hunt, a Dartmoor hot-crossed bun fest,
and a Heavenfield battlefield history tour, Northumberland.
Ruth Wembridge, Head of Membership Recruitment at the RA said:
“What better way to celebrate the Easter delights of young
spring sun, new shoots, buds, birds and bells than joining a
free, expert-led walk through some of Britain’s loveliest
countryside.”
