Come and celebrate the CRoW Act's first birthday! [26 November 2001]

RAMBLERS IN South Yorkshire will be holding a rally to celebrate the first anniversary of the historic Countryside and Rights of Way Act (CRoW) 2000 that will introduce the freedom to roam in England and Wales. The rally will take place on Yorkshire Water land at Langsett Woods on the edge of the Pennine Moors in South Yorkshire on Saturday, 1 December 2001. 

The meeting point will be at Langsett Barn Youth Hostel at noon, with speeches starting at 12.30pm. Grid reference: Outdoor Leisure map 1, Peak District, 212 005. 

Guest speakers are Labour Member of Parliament for High Peak, Tom Levitt MP; Managing Director of Kelda Group, Kevin Whiteman; land agent for the Langsett area John Lees; and Ramblers Chairman Cath MacKay. The speeches will be followed by a choice of walks on the access land of Langsett Moors.
