This Easter, the Ramblers Association (RA) is offering walkers the chance to take part in 250 free, led walks around the country which celebrate shoots, sun, spring air and – in some cases – eggs of the non-hatching chocolate variety.
The walks – 50 of which are a family friendly distance of under 6 miles - vary in length and tone ensuring there is a stroll to suit all tastes. All, however, have been chosen by experts and have a strong Spring theme; they include walks in Yorkshire’s hidden Dimpledale (entrance through the bottom of a garden!), a Cambridgeshire Easter-egg hunt, a Dartmoor hot-crossed bun fest, and a Heavenfield battlefield history tour, Northumberland.
Ruth Wembridge, Head of Membership Recruitment at the RA said: “What better way to celebrate the Easter delights of young spring sun, new shoots, buds, birds and bells than joining a free, expert-led walk through some of Britain’s loveliest countryside.”
