Fed up with empty doormats while other people canoodle away Valentines Day? Why not meet a special someone by joining a Ramblers’ Valentine walk, custom-designed for people who want to get out, make new friends and … who knows… start a romance.

This Valentines Weekend (14 – 15th Feb 2009) Ramblers ‘Hike’ groups for people in their 20’s and 30’s, will be holding over 150 led walks up and down the country. Fun, free, and open to all, the friendly walks are a great way to meet new people.
*** There are over 250 walks for people of all ages taking places over the weekend ****
Eleanor Harris, London Metropolitan Walkers, comments: “There’s no better way to meet new people than on a led Ramblers walk. All that chatting with new people in beautiful countryside is a perfect way to loosen the tongue and really get to know someone. You can’t do that in a club!”
She adds: “Most walks end up in the pub – the perfect way to get warm and unwind after a hard days talking and walking!”
The Ramblers has over 50 lively ‘Hike’ groups around the country. Suzanne Rose, Wight Sole 20s- 30s walking group, met her husband Dave on a Ramblers walk four years ago: “We met on a walk and just enjoyed each others company as you do on most strolls, chatting and taking in the views. We started e-mailing and, over the next year, walked and holidayed together. On February 14th 2007 Dave and I walked to the top of Tennyson Down in the dark, and Dave proposed to me. We got married in the New Forest in September.”
