Campaigner Kate Ashbrook, President of the Ramblers

Ramblers President Kate Ashbrook and our One Coast For All campaign for the England Coast Path have been nominated in the Great Outdoors Awards run by TGO magazine and there’s only a week left to have your vote.

Dedicated campaigner Kate is in the running for outdoor personality of the year while our coastal access campaign, One Coast For All, has been shortlisted for the environmental or access initiative of the year award.

We recently celebrated the Government reaffirming its commitment to the England Coast Path – a huge success for the One Coast For All campaign. Winning the environmental or access initiative award would be further confirmation of the importance of the coast path.

Kate has been campaigning for environmental and access issues herself for over thirty years and is a strong supporter of the England Coast Path. You can read about how the plight of an area of wild Dartmoor in 1971 inspired her to act for the things that matter to her in her blog.

TGO Awards logoVoting for the awards is open on the TGO website and runs until 10 November. There are nine categories to vote in and winners will be announced at a ceremony in Kendal in the Lake District on 13 November.
