Keep Barmouth Bridge open to walkers

Gwynedd Council is considering the closure of iconic Barmouth Bridge to pedestrians and cyclists as one of a number of possible cost-cutting measures. Walkers will face an 18-mile detour if the bridge is closed. An online petition has been set up.

Views sought on outdoor recreation in Wales

The Welsh Government has published the long awaited Green paper on improving opportunities to access the outdoors for responsible recreation. Ramblers Cymru will be taking a keen interest in the debates this will generate, and will be developing a strong response that stresses the importance of protecting our path network while building the vibrant walking culture we want to see in Wales.
