Big Hit Somerset

Obstructed path in SomersetThe Somerset 'big hit' campaign began in 2006 after a survey conducted by local Ramblers' volunteers uncovered a problem every 1.2 miles of right of way.

The Somerset Campaign Working Group (comprised of Ramblers' staff and local volunteers) is looking to work with Somerset Council to find new sources of funding for the long-standing path problems affecting walkers in the county.

The working group is promoting the Council's Parish Path Liaison Officer Scheme in its campaign newsletter, which goes to all Ramblers members in Somerset.
