There's loads of ways to get involved in our work to improve rights of way. Whether you've got a spare half-hour every now and again or more time than you know what to do with, you can help make a difference.
From path maintenance to complex historical research, there's a volunteering opportunity to suit everyone.
Volunteer Projects
Footpath Guardian Scheme
What's pleasanter than taking a walk in your spare time? Footpath Guardians make a simple promise to report any path problems they come across and to follow up on progress. And that's it! No hefty time commitment; just you getting to know your local paths
Forgotten Paths Project
If you've got an interest in local history this is the project for you! Hundreds of ancient rights of way across the country are in danger of being lost forever if they don't get recorded before 2026, and we're looking for people to help save them.
Volunteering with Local Areas and Groups
If you are a member of the Ramblers', why not contact your local Area or Group and get involved in their rights of way work? Local Areas and Groups do an enormous variety of work on the rights of way network - such as organising work parties to clear overgrown paths, undertaking surveys for the local authority and lobbying decision makers for a better deal for the walking public.
