The New Ramblers' Handbook

The Ramblers' Association is publishing a series of five new guidebooks which will replace the current members' handbook, walk BRITAIN. The new guides will feature the best walks Britain has to offer, all suggested by the best route-developers in Britain: Ramblers' Association members!

2009 edition: Walk Britain's Great Views

Current edition (in production):

Theme: Great Views
Copy deadline: 28 April 2008
Publication date: Feb 2009

A big thank you to everyone who submitted a walk for the first edition of our series. We've received some fabulous walks, and discovered some truly great views in hitherto unsung areas of Britain.

Unfortunately the deadline for Walk Britain's Great Views has now passed, but you can still submit a walk for any of the future titles in the series (see below).

In particular we're keen to hear about any great walks in and around Britain's forests or coastal areas.

All walks will be considered for publication, and the more background detail you can supply the easier our job will be.

However, even if a walk is not selected for publication in our members' book, we may find another use for it: for example online, in other RA publications, or to promote walking in the national press.

You can use the template form, or email the walk as an attachment to yearbook@ramblers.org.uk but please follow the guidelines on the template to ensure you have included all the necessary information.

High resolution images are not required at this stage, but if you can send a small picture to illustrate the area that would be helpful. Pictures need to be sent separately to yearbook@ramblers.org.uk
