Access in Scotland

Ramblers Scotland took a leading role in the development of land reform legislation in Scotland which came into effect on 9 February 2005. The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 establishes a statutory right of access to almost all land and water, which must be exercised responsibly.

Scottish Outdoor Access Code

The Scottish Outdoor Access Code provides guidance on responsible behaviour for recreational users and land managers. It also gives guidance on where access rights do and do not apply.
