Ramblers in the High Court to appeal ‘Andrews’ case

We’ve been in the High Court this week to appeal against the ruling of the 1993 ‘Andrews’ case concerning paths ‘set out’ as a result of Inclosure Acts. As we wait for the outcome of the case, we explain its background and why it’s important the 1993 court ruling is overturned.

The Glasgow Ramblers have teamed up with Walk Glasgow to help people progress from shorter walks designed to help improve health and wellbeing to longer walks via free walks designed to encourage people to walk that little bit further.

Walkers, horse riders and cyclists in Burstwick, East Yorkshire, are celebrating following the news that a much-needed bridleway that will allow people to avoid two busy roads has been saved thanks to the efforts of the Ramblers and the British Horse Society (BHS).

A Joint Committee of the House of Commons and House of Lords has published a report making recommendations to the Government on changes to new laws included in the draft Deregulation Bill concerning the way paths are recorded on definitive maps.
