Volunteering Opportunities with our Areas and Groups
Central to the Ramblers' Association is our Area and Group network which is run entirely by volunteers. (Find your Area and nearest Groups)
In our Areas and Groups,
volunteers get involved because they
want to share their love of walking and appreciation of the
countryside with others.
Each Area and Group chooses how best to organise their
work. This gives them a large degree of responsibility and
autonomy which can make involvement in them extremely rewarding.
(The organisation of our Areas and Groups is central to the structure of the RA. Find out more!)
We have split the work done by our Areas and Groups into the broad themes below. By following the links you can learn why each area of work is important and what volunteer roles are available.
- Protect and improve Britain's footpath network
- Encourage access to the countryside and the Right to Roam
- Defend the beauty of Britain's countryside
- Tell our members, the public and the media about our work
- Lead walks and organise programmes of walks
- Join a working party
- Welcome new members to the RA
- Co-ordinate your Group or Area's work
