The Festival of Winter Walks runs annually over the Christmas and New Year period. It's a great opportunity to discover the pleasures and benefits of walking and the welcome of a Ramblers group led walk or try a short health walk with a Walking for Health group in England, while making the best of winter days and kick-starting those New Year's resolutions!
Free, fun and open to everyone walks will take place around the country during the festival. Chosen and led by Ramblers and Walking for Health volunteers, the walks showcase Britain at its wintry best. Many of the walks are short and family-friendly, although there are always plenty of longer walks for the seasoned hiker too.
The festival typically includes:
- Walks across England, Scotland and Wales
- Hundreds of walks under five miles
- Festive-themed walks
- Walks for people in their 20s and 30s
With so many wonderful walks to choose from all around Britain, we'd recommend anyone, whatever their age or walking ability, to join in the Festival of Winter Walks.
