Concerts for walkers - Messiaen' s Quartet for the End of Time

As part of the Guildford International Music Festival from 8-24 March 2013 three ‘concerts for walkers’ will be taking place at the church of St Martha-on-the-Hill on the stretch of the Pilgrim’s Way between Guildford and Chilworth.

Built in 1850 on the site of an old Saxon Church on the ancient Pilgrim’s Way, the church offers (on a fine day) a view of eight different counties from one single spot. A steep 15 minute walk to this unique venue will be rewarded by a recital of Messiaen' s Quartet for the End of Time performed by the Holywell Ensemble.

Access is via the track from the Halfpenny Lane car park (disabled access by car possible by prior arrangement). Walkers and dogs are welcome.
