Guidebooks have been around in some shape or form since antiquity, when peripluses were used by captains to see listed ports and coastal landmarks, with approximate distances between them.
Since then a whole wealth of guidebooks focusing on walking, mountaineering, hill walking and scrambling have appeared. In the UK, the W. A. Pouchers Guides are probably some of the most famous, and although they were written between the 40’s and 60’s, they can still be found in bookstores and online.
We're pleased to be able to show you the walking guides our local groups have researched, written and published. You can order them directly using the purchasing details below. We've listed the ones you can buy but get in touch with your local group for more information on walks taking place near you.
